Theresa Alessio Spazok;78;of 24 Johnston St.;Belle Vernon;died Wednesday March 14;2001 at 1:25 a.m. at the Residence at the Hilltop;Carroll Township. She was born July 22;1922;in Italy;a daughter of the late Dominic and Mary Theresa Merandi Alessio. She was a lifelong resident of the Belle Vernon community. She was a member of St.Sebastian Roman Catholic Church of Belle Vernon and the Ladies Guild of the parish. She was a member of the Belle Vernon American Legion Post 659 Ladies Auxiliary and the Anita Garibaldi Society of Belle Vernon;where she had worked for many years in the kitchen. She was also a member of the former Ladies Auxiliary to the Belle Vernon Fire Company No.2. She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law;Diane and Francis Roberts of Belle Vernon;a son and daughter-in-law;Ted and Mary Lynne Spazok Jr.of Upper St.Clair;one sister;Rose Steinbaugh of Charleroi;and three grandchildren;Jessica Spazok;Mark Roberts and Neil Roberts. In addition to her parents;she was preceded in death by her husband;Theodore (Ted) Spazok on Nov.20;1997;a granddaughter;Raenelle Angela Roberts;three brothers;Frank Alessio;Anthony Alessio and James Alessio;and a sister;Theresa Alessio. Visitations will be held Wednesday 7 to 9 p.m. and Thursday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the LEONARD J.PARZYNSKI FUNERAL HOME;family owned and operated;626 Broad Ave.;Belle Vernon. Prayer service will be held Friday morning at 9:30 a.m. in the funeral home;followed by Funeral Mass at St.Sebastian R.C.Church;Belle Vernon;at 10 a.m. with the Rev.Donald P.Trexler;parochial vicar;as celebrant. Interment in Belle Vernon Cemetery. Legion of Mary and the Ladies Guild will recite the Rosary Thursday at 3 p.m. and the Anita Garibaldi Society of Belle Vernon will hold services Thursday at 3:30 p.m.;both in the funeral home.
