Obituary

Theodore "Ske" Yowonske, 66, of Belle Vernon, Rostraver Township, died Thursday, April 16, 2015, at UPMC Shadyside Hospital, Pittsburgh. Born March 20, 1949, in Pricedale, he was the son of the late John and Helen Britvich Yowonske. A resident of Rostraver Township, Mr. Yowonske was a member of the Church of St. Anne, Rostraver, and attended St. Sebastian Roman Catholic Church, Belle Vernon. Ted was the owner and operator of Carbon Fuel Resources, Bullskin Tipple Co. and T. Yowonske Farms. He was a 1967 graduate of Belle Vernon High School, loved to collect guns, hunt, especially in Alaska, enjoyed spring fishing in Erie and farming always. He also enjoyed his daily meetings with his friends at Randall's, B and B and the Sunday morning crowd at Denny's. Ted was a veteran of the Vietnam War having received the Purple Heart serving with the U.S. Marines in the 3rd Battalion Platoon 336. He is survived by his wife, Geraldine "Gerri" Claybaughm Yowonske to whom he was married 42 years; daughter and son-in-law, Nicole "Angel" and Jody Henson of Belle Vernon; son, Ted "Bo" Yowonske of Belle Vernon; two grandchildren, Max "My Man" Henson, Lexi "Queen Bee" Henson; brother and sister-in-law, Lee Yowonske Sr. and wife, Janet, of Belle Vernon; and two nephews, Lee Yowonske Jr. and Jason Yowonske. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Carl Yowonske and John Yowonske Jr. Visitation will be held Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. at the PARZYNSKI FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATIONS, Family Owned and Operated, 626 Broad Ave., Belle Vernon, 724-929-6183. Prayer service will be held Monday at 9:15 a.m. in the funeral home followed by funeral Mass at 10 a.m. at St. Sebastian Roman Catholic Church with the Rev. Vincent Gigliotti, Pastor of the Church of St. Anne officiating. Interment will take place in Belle Vernon Cemetery. Members of St. Sebastian parish will pray the rosary for the departed soul of Ted Yowonske Sunday at 3 p.m. in the funeral home.
