Obituary

Theodore Sheldon Hopkins Sr.,69,of 479 Knox Ave.,Monessen,died Thursday,Nov.11,1971,at 7:15 p.m.in Monongahela Memorial Hospital after a brief illness. A son of Joseph J.Hopkins and Nancy J.Martin Hopkins,he was born in Monessen on May 25,1902. He was a Monessen resident his entire lifetime. He was employed as an electrician at Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel's Monessen Plant until his retirement in 1967. He was a member of Grace United Methodist Church,F&AM Lodge 629,Royal Arch Chapter,all of Monessen,and McKean Commandery of Charleroi. He was preceded in death by his wife,Goldie Chapman Hopkins,in July,1968,and by his daughter,Linda Lee Hopkins,in March,1969. Surviving are one son,Theodore S.Hopkins Jr.of Squirrel Hill,Pittsburgh,one sister,Mrs,Ethel Cosil of Elizabeth,and one brother,Kenneth Hopkins of Wyandotte,Mich. Friends are being received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.at the Rhome Funeral Home,Monessen,where a service will be held in the chapel Saturday,Nov.13,1971,at 1:30 p.m. with the Rev.Jospeh C.Rial,pastor of Grace United Methodist Church,Monessen,officiating. Interment will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. Rhome funeral directors in charge of arrangements.
