Theodore Sheldon Hopkins Sr.;69;of 479 Knox Ave.;Monessen;died Thursday;Nov.11;1971;at 7:15 p.m.in Monongahela Memorial Hospital after a brief illness. A son of Joseph J.Hopkins and Nancy J.Martin Hopkins;he was born in Monessen on May 25;1902. He was a Monessen resident his entire lifetime. He was employed as an electrician at Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel’s Monessen Plant until his retirement in 1967. He was a member of Grace United Methodist Church;F&AM Lodge 629;Royal Arch Chapter;all of Monessen;and McKean Commandery of Charleroi. He was preceded in death by his wife;Goldie Chapman Hopkins;in July;1968;and by his daughter;Linda Lee Hopkins;in March;1969. Surviving are one son;Theodore S.Hopkins Jr.of Squirrel Hill;Pittsburgh;one sister;Mrs;Ethel Cosil of Elizabeth;and one brother;Kenneth Hopkins of Wyandotte;Mich. Friends are being received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.at the Rhome Funeral Home;Monessen;where a service will be held in the chapel Saturday;Nov.13;1971;at 1:30 p.m. with the Rev.Jospeh C.Rial;pastor of Grace United Methodist Church;Monessen;officiating. Interment will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. Rhome funeral directors in charge of arrangements.
