Obituary

A 23-year-old Pricedale man was killed early today when he lost control of his motorcycle and smashed into a parked car at the end of a high-speed police chase in Belle Vernon.Terry L.Haines (Linderman),of Johnson Ave.,was pronounced dead on arrival at 1:5 a.m. at Charleroi Division of Mon Valley hospital,15 minutes after the accident occured. Haines' motorcycle spilled onto its side at the corner of State St.and Route 906,Belle Vernon,when he leaned too far while making the bend. Haines slid off the bike and into the parked car. State Police said Haines was being pursued by North Belle Vernon police because he was traveling without headlights. The high-speed chase developed along Broad Ave. Haines reportedly had driven through Fayette City earlier without lights and refused to stop when Fayette City police attempted to flag him down. They then radioed ahead to alert North Belle Vernon police. Born May 30,1953,in Brownsville,he was a son of Lee Santmyer Linderman of Pricedale,who survives,and the late Paul Haines. In addition to his natural father,he was preceded in death by a brother,David H.Linderman,in 1964,and his grandparents,Donald and Olive Santmyer of Brownsville,and David H.Linderman of Pricedale. In addition to his mother and his father,James Linderman,he is survived by three sisters,Mrs.Isaac (Joanne )Lanham of Fayette City,Kimberly and Lee Ann,both at home,four brothers,Gary,Roy,Jeffrey and James Linderman,all at home,his grandmother,Mrs.Blanche Landaman of Brownsville,and three nephews,Dennis,Isaac Jr.and Shane Lee Lanham. Visitation hours for the family and relatives will be from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday and friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday in the Leonard J.Parzynski Funeral Home,626 Broad ave.,Belle Vernon,where services will be held Thursday at 1 p.m.,with the rev.Howard Rodebaugh of Pricedale Union Church in charge. Interment will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. Leonard J.Parzynski is the funeral director in charge.
