Obituary

Teresa Funk Diethorn of Ridge Road,Belle Vernon,R.D.3,died Thursday,Feb.21,1985,at 6:30 p.m. in Westmoreland Manor,Greensburg. She was 92. Mrs.Diethorn was born Oct.15,1892 in Pittsburgh,a daughter of the late William and Teresa Kern Funk. She was preceded in death by a daughter,Catherine Boltze,in 1943,and by her husband,George Diethorn, in 1965. A resident of the Belle Vernon community for many years,she was a member of St.Sebastian's Roman Catholic Church,Belle Vernon,and the Third Order of St.Francis. Surviving are four sons,George,Lionel and Walter Diethorn,all of Belle Vernon,and Dennis Diethorn of Charleroi,three daughters,Mrs.James (Evelyn) McManus of Belle Vernon,Mrs.Joseph (Phyllis) Sabol of Belle Vernon (with whom she made her home)and Mrs.Joseph (Mildred) Allfree of Speers Hill,a granddaughter,Carol Boltze Elliott of Findlay,Ohio (whom she raised),a brother,John Funk of Florida,23 grandchildren,and 28 great-grandchildren. Friends will be received at the Leonard J.Parzynski Funeral Home,626 Broad Ave.,Belle Vernon,Saturday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A prayer Service will be held Monday at 9:30 a.m. in the funeral home,followed by a 10 a.m.Mass of Christian Burial at St.Sebastian's R.C.Church,Belle Vernon. Belle Vernon Knights of Columbus Council No.3026 Services will be held Saturday at 7:30 p.m. in the funeral home. Third Order of St.Francis Services will be held Sunday at 3 p.m. in the funeral home. Burial will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. The Leonard J.Parzynski Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
