Susan Janus Mitchell;82;of McKeesport;formerly of Fayette Avenue;Belle Vernon;died at 6:05 p.m.Wednesday;July 29;1992;in Riverside Nursing Center;McKeesport. Mrs.Mitchell was born Sept.8;1909;in Charleroi;a daughter of the late Michael and Mary Smerekoski Janus. A Catholic by faith;she had resided in the Belle Vernon area for most of her life. Her husband;Michael J.Mitchell;died July 3;1988. A son;James Keith Watson;and a brother;George Janus;are also deceased. Surviving are three stepdaughters;Mrs.Edward (Lydia) Urbany of Torrance;Calif.;Mrs.Leo (Vera) McDermott of Allenport and Mrs.Shirley Toward Gelcheiser of Elizabeth Township;four brothers;Andrew Janus of Battle Creek;Mich.;Paul Janus of Monessen;Edward Janus of Pittsburgh and Michael Janes Jr.of Salton Sea;Calif.;eight stepgrandchildren;and 12 stepgreat-grandchildren. Friends will be received Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.in the Leonard J.Parzynski Funeral Home;626 Broad Ave.;Belle Vernon. A Blessing Service will be held Saturday at 10 a.m.in the funeral home.
