Surena E. Floyd,17,of 621 Tenth St.,Monessen,died Friday, Aug.,28,1987 at 9:30 a.m. in Presbyterian University Hospital, Pittsburgh. She was born in Monessen,April 14,1970,a daughter of James R. and Lorraine Floyd,who survive her. She attended Monessen High School where she would have been a member of the senior class. She was a member of the Highland Baptist Church of Connellsville,where she belonged to the youth group and was assistant pianist for the chorus. She was also a member of the adult choir of Mt. Calvary Baptist Church, Monessen. Besides her parents, she is survived by two sisters, Rosena Mitchell of Fayetteville, N.C.,and Janet Feliciano of Monessen; one brother, James R. Floyd,Jr.; a maternal grandmother,Esther Jefferson of Connellsville;a great-grandmother,Mildred Craggette of Connellsville,and her godparents,Deacon and Mrs. Henry Henderson of Monessen. Friends will be received Monday from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Beverly C. Draper Funrral Home,608 Sixth St.,Monessen,and from 7 to 9 p.m. at Mt. Calvary Baptist Church. Services will be held Tuesday, Sept. 1 at 11 a.m. at Mt. Calvary Baptist Church,Monessen, with Rev. Thomas Floyd, pastor of Highland Baptist Church, Connellsville,officiating. Interment will be at Belle Vernon Cemetery. The Beverly C. Draper Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
