Steve Misher Jr.;73;of Fairhope;died at his home Friday;June 22;2001. He was born Oct.14;1927;in Fairhope;where he was a lifelong resident;and the son of the late Steve and Katherine Kowasic Misher. He was a member of Holy Spirit Roman Catholic Church of Fayette City. He retired form Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel;Allenport plant;in 1983 after 39 years of service. He was a veteran of World War II;having served in the U.S.Navy;a member of the Brightwell-Daugherty Post 484;American Legion;Fayette City;a life member of the Fairhope Rod & Gun Club;Naomi Athletic Club and Belle Vernon Moose. His favorite past time was fishing at Lake Erie. He is survived by his wife of 48 years;Iona Dorcon Misher;a son;Stephen Misher;two daughters;Teresa Downer and husband Harry;Mary (Margie) Yonash and husbant Robert;all of Fairhope;an uncle George Misher of Rices Landing;and many nieces and nephews. Friends were received Sunday and will be received Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.in the ELEY-McCRORY FUNERAL HOME INC.;334 Mains St.;Fayette City;and Tuesday until 10 a.m.when a Blessing service will take place with the Rev.Leonard McAlpin officiating. Interment will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery.
