Obituary

Steve H. Hoffman, 55,of 111 Leighty Ave.,Belle Vernon, was dead on arrival at Charleroi- Monessen Hospital Tuesday,May 25,1965, at 1:30 p.m. He had been in failing health for the past month. Born in Pricedale,March 4 1910,he had lived his entire lifetime in the Belle Vernon area. He had been employed in the electrical division of No. 5 automatic finish department Allenport plant of Pittsburgh Steel Co. since 1954. Prior to that he had worked for 27 years at the Monessen plant of Pittsburgh Steel. He was a member of St. Sebastian R.C. Church, Belle Vernon. Surviving are his widow Yvonne Griffith Hoffman, a son, Thomas(Tim),Belle Vernon, a daughter, Mrs. Benjamin (Karen) Greenwood,Belle Vernon R. D. 4, his parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Hoffman,Belle Vernon, a brother,Joseph, Belle Vernon, three sisters, Mrs. Julia Hogue,Coraopolis,Mrs Irene Ferencz,Belle Vernon and Mrs. Elizabeth Pritchau,Boulder, Colo. and four grandchildren. Friends will be received at the Shelby D. Ferguson Funeral Home,Broad Ave.,Belle Vernon after 7 p.m.Wednesday,May 26. Funeral services will be held Friday,May 28,1965,at 9:30 a.m.from the funeral home,with additional services of Requiem High Mass to follow at 10 a.m.from St.Sebastian R.C.Church,Belle Vernon. The Rev.Martin J.O'Toole will officiate. Interment will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. Shelby D.Ferguson,funeral director.
