Obituary

Steve Evans, 68, of House No. 1, Johnson Ave., Pricedale, died in Brownsville Hospital Tuesday,July 30,1963, at 2:10 p. m. Mr. Evans was president of the Hungarian Club in Pricedale and a member of the Hungarian B. L. S. of Monessen. He served as secretary treasurer of the William Penn Fraternal Association, Branch 7 of Pricedale. Born in Hungary on April 27, 1895, he bad been a resident of Pricedale for over 50 years. He was a United Mine worker, retiring from the Sommers No. 4 mine in Pricedale. Following his retirement he was steward at the Hungarian Club until 1961, a post he held for two years. He was a member of St. Sebastian's R. C. Church in Belle Vernon. Surviving are his widow, Christina Slavischalk Evans, one son, John George Evans of Andrews, S. C., two daughters, Mrs. Alvin (Caroline) Zeimet of Cleveland, Ohio, and Donna Marie Evans at home, one brother, Ziga of Belle Vernon R. D., three sisters, Mrs. Mary Evans of Terrytown, N. Y., Mrs. Elizabeth Vargo of Long Island, N. Y., and Julia in Europe. Three grandchildren also survive. Friends will be received at the Shelby D. Ferguson Funeral Home in Belle Vernon after 7 p.m. on July 31.Requiem High Mass will take place at St.Sebastian's R.C.Church,Belle Vernon,Friday,Aug.2,1963,at 10:30 a.m.in charge of the Rev.Martin J. O'Toole,pastor. Interment in Belle Vernon Cemetery. Shelby D.Ferguson,funeral director.
