Steve Evans; 68; of House No.
1; Johnson Ave.; Pricedale; died
in Brownsville Hospital Tuesday;July 30;1963; at 2:10 p. m.
Mr. Evans was president of the
Hungarian Club in Pricedale and
a member of the Hungarian
B. L. S. of Monessen. He served as secretary treasurer of the William Penn Fraternal Association;
Branch 7 of Pricedale. Born in Hungary on April 27;
1895; he bad been a resident of
Pricedale for over 50 years. He
was a United Mine worker; retiring from the Sommers No. 4
mine in Pricedale. Following his retirement he was steward at the
Hungarian Club until 1961; a post
he held for two years.
He was a member of St. Sebastian’s R. C. Church in Belle
Vernon.
Surviving are his widow; Christina Slavischalk Evans; one son;
John George Evans of Andrews;
S. C.; two daughters; Mrs. Alvin
(Caroline) Zeimet of Cleveland;
Ohio; and Donna Marie Evans at
home; one brother; Ziga of Belle
Vernon R. D.; three sisters; Mrs.
Mary Evans of Terrytown; N. Y.;
Mrs. Elizabeth Vargo of Long
Island; N. Y.; and Julia in Europe. Three grandchildren also
survive.
Friends will be received at the Shelby D. Ferguson Funeral
Home in Belle Vernon after 7 p.m. on July 31.Requiem High Mass will take place at St.Sebastian’s R.C.Church;Belle Vernon;Friday;Aug.2;1963;at 10:30 a.m.in charge of the Rev.Martin J. O’Toole;pastor. Interment in Belle Vernon Cemetery. Shelby D.Ferguson;funeral director.
