Steve Petty;50;of 54 Scenery Blvd.;Monessen;died unexpectedly at 11:15 p.m.Friday;June 21;1968;at his home. Born July 29;1917;in Brownfield;he was a resident of Monessen for 30 years. He was employed as a millwright at the Monessen plant of Pittsburgh Steel Co. Mr.Petty was a veteran of the U.S.Army;serving in World War II. He was a member of the Monessen Slovak Home;American Legion Post 28;Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1190;both of Monessen. Surviving are his widow;Kay Petty;one stepdughter;Mrs.William (Donna) Dawson of Belle Vernon;his mother;Mrs.Anna Petty of Monessen;two sisters;Mrs.John (Barbara) Kaminsky and Mrs.John (Irene) Hlatky;both of Monessen;two brothers;John Petty and Frank Petty;both of Monessen. He was preceded in death by his father;George Sr.;two brothers and one sister. Friends are being received at the Robert A.Billick Funeral Home;Monessen;after 7 p.m.Saturday. Blessing service there Monday;June 24;at 11 a.m. with Rev.Matthew A.Yanosek;Holy Name R.C.Church;officiating. Interment will be in Holy Name Cemetery;Monessen. Robert A.Billick;funeral director.
