Obituary

Steve Petty,50,of 54 Scenery Blvd.,Monessen,died unexpectedly at 11:15 p.m.Friday,June 21,1968,at his home. Born July 29,1917,in Brownfield,he was a resident of Monessen for 30 years. He was employed as a millwright at the Monessen plant of Pittsburgh Steel Co. Mr.Petty was a veteran of the U.S.Army,serving in World War II. He was a member of the Monessen Slovak Home,American Legion Post 28,Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1190,both of Monessen. Surviving are his widow,Kay Petty,one stepdughter,Mrs.William (Donna) Dawson of Belle Vernon,his mother,Mrs.Anna Petty of Monessen,two sisters,Mrs.John (Barbara) Kaminsky and Mrs.John (Irene) Hlatky,both of Monessen,two brothers,John Petty and Frank Petty,both of Monessen. He was preceded in death by his father,George Sr.,two brothers and one sister. Friends are being received at the Robert A.Billick Funeral Home,Monessen,after 7 p.m.Saturday. Blessing service there Monday,June 24,at 11 a.m. with Rev.Matthew A.Yanosek,Holy Name R.C.Church,officiating. Interment will be in Holy Name Cemetery,Monessen. Robert A.Billick,funeral director. (He was moved to Belle Vernon Cemetery on June 11,1981)
