Obituary

Stephen W.Thrasher,29,of 125 Branthover St.,Arnold City,Belle Vernon,died Thursday,Dec.9,1976,at 4:30 a.m. in Presbyterian University Hospital,Pittsburgh. He had been ill the past several weeks. Born in Washington Twp.on April 25,1947,he was a son of Cora Dupree Thrasher of Arnold City and the late Weldon Thrasher. Mr.Thrasher was a member of the First Christian Church of Wick Haven. He was employed at the Allenport Plant of Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Corp. Surviving,in addition to his mother,are his widow,Millie Thrasher of Pittsburgh,two brothers,Richard Thrasher of New york City and Melvin Thrasher of Lorain,Ohio,five sisters,Mrs.Phillip (Shirley) Annexstein and Mrs.James (Sylvia) Joyner,both of Brooklyn,N.Y.,Mrs.Samuel (Millicent) Sellers of Arnold City,Mrs.Ray (Sonia) Parker of Uniontown and Mrs.Jerome (Kathy) Wilson of Rochester,N.Y.,his maternal grandmother,Mrs.Aggie Dupree of Belle Vernon,and a number of aunts,uncles,nieces and nephews. Friends will be received at the Howard W.McCrory Funeral Home,Fayette City,after 2 p.m.Saturday,Dec.11. Services will be held Monday,Dec.13,at 1:30 p.m.in the First Christian Church,Wick Haven,with Bishop Freeman Thomas of Pittsburgh officiating. Interment will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. Howard W.McCrory is funeral director in charge.
