Stephen W.Thrasher;29;of 125 Branthover St.;Arnold City;Belle Vernon;died Thursday;Dec.9;1976;at 4:30 a.m. in Presbyterian University Hospital;Pittsburgh. He had been ill the past several weeks. Born in Washington Twp.on April 25;1947;he was a son of Cora Dupree Thrasher of Arnold City and the late Weldon Thrasher. Mr.Thrasher was a member of the First Christian Church of Wick Haven. He was employed at the Allenport Plant of Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Corp. Surviving;in addition to his mother;are his widow;Millie Thrasher of Pittsburgh;two brothers;Richard Thrasher of New york City and Melvin Thrasher of Lorain;Ohio;five sisters;Mrs.Phillip (Shirley) Annexstein and Mrs.James (Sylvia) Joyner;both of Brooklyn;N.Y.;Mrs.Samuel (Millicent) Sellers of Arnold City;Mrs.Ray (Sonia) Parker of Uniontown and Mrs.Jerome (Kathy) Wilson of Rochester;N.Y.;his maternal grandmother;Mrs.Aggie Dupree of Belle Vernon;and a number of aunts;uncles;nieces and nephews. Friends will be received at the Howard W.McCrory Funeral Home;Fayette City;after 2 p.m.Saturday;Dec.11. Services will be held Monday;Dec.13;at 1:30 p.m.in the First Christian Church;Wick Haven;with Bishop Freeman Thomas of Pittsburgh officiating. Interment will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. Howard W.McCrory is funeral director in charge.
