Obituary

Stephen Horvath,aged 26,electrician,native youth of Charleroi,and well known resident of North Charleroi,was electrocuted Thursday afternoon February 12,1925,about 3 o'clock while repairing a transformer in the electrical department of the Pittsburgh Steel products company,Monessen.  A sad feature in connection with the fatality is that he was killed the day before his brthday.  Little is known concerning the details of the accident,but nevertheless it has resulted in a tragedy that saddens the entire community.  Mr.Horvath has only been working at this Monessen plant since the first of the year,having formerly been empoyed by the government at the Lock.  He has only recently recovered from a fall from a cement house at the Lock,which occurred about three years ago,at which time he injured his back.  The son of the late Lewis and Julia Horvath,the decedent was born and reared in Charleroi,where he enjoyed a wide circle of friends.  He leaves to mourn his death,his widow,Mrs.Martha Metz Horvath,and two children,Alice Jane and Albert Ellsworth;three sisters,Mrs.William Van Gelder,and Mrs.Alice Maderia of Morgantown,W.Va.,and Miss Emma Horvath of Pittsburgh;two brothers,Lewis Horvath of North Charleroi,and William Horvath,who made his home with the deceased. He was an active member of the Washington Avenue Presbyterian Church,and a member of the Men's Bible class of that church.  Funeral services will take place Sunday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock from the late home in 615 Railroad street,North Charleroi,with Rev.Frank S.Montgomery in charge.  Interment will follow in the Belle Vernon Cemetery.
