Stephen Evans, 80,of 409 Lutz Run Road, Belle Vernon,Rostraver Township,died Saturday, Sept. 19,1998,at 9:20 a.m. in Mon Valley Hospital. He was born July 16,1918,in Pricedale,a son fthe late Ziga and Elizabeth Herbai Evans. A lifelong resident of the Belle Vernon area,he was a member of St. Sebastian Roman Catholic Church,Belle Vernon. He owned and operated Evans Farm in Rostraver Township. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II and a member of the Fayette City American Legion Post 484. Survivors include his wife, Kathryn Glista Evans;one daughter, Mrs. Marino (Carol) Moraitis of Pittsburgh; two sisters, Margaret Such of McKeesport and Emma Jean Lelik of Donora;two grandchildren,John Moraitis of Pittsburgh and Katie Millili of Philadelphia and two great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents,he was preceded in death by three brothers, Julius,John and William Evans. Friends will be received Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the Leonard J. Parzynski Funeral Home,626 Broad Ave., Belle Vernon. A Prayer service will be held Tuesday at 9:30 a.m. in the funeral home,followed by Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. in St. Sebastian Roman Catholic Church, Belle Vernon. Burial will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. The Legion of Mary will recite the Rosary Monday at 3p.m. in the funeral home. The Fayette City American Legion Post 484 will conduct services at 7 p.m. in the funeral home. The Leonard J. Parzynski Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
