Obituary

Stella Rogers,77,of Brooklyn,N.Y.,died Tuesday,Dec.10,1996,at 1:10 p.m. in New York. Born Jan.27,1919,in Belle Vernon,she was a daughter of the late John and Marie Ambrose McCune. A member of St.Sebastian Roman Catholic Church of Belle Vernon,she had lived in New York since 1992. Mrs.Rogers had been a waitress at Rego's Restaurant in Charleroi for many years. In addition to her parents,she was preceded in death by her first husband,Alvin Peters,in 1950,her second husband,Henry Rogers,in 1987,and a son LeRoy Peters,in 1976. Survivors include one son,John Peters,with whom she resided,one daughter,Carole Lee of Charleroi,one daughter-in-law,Elizabeth Peters of West Haven,Conn.,one brother,Albert McCune of Belle Vernon,four sisters,Rose Zeli,Ange Koslosky and Lena Sichi,all of Belle Vernon,and Dolores Michaux of Charleroi,seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Friends will be received Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the Ferguson Funeral Home Inc.,700 Broad Ave.,Belle Vernon,where a prayer service will be held Saturday at 9:30 a.m.,followed by Funeral Mass in St.Sebastian Roman Catholic Church,Belle Vernon,with the Rev.E.George Saletrik,parochial vicar,as celebrant. Burial will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. Legion of Mary will recite the Rosary Friday at 3 p.m.in the funeral home. The Ferguson Funeral Home Inc.is in charge of arrangements.
