He was born in Poland March
25; 1896; a son of the late John
and Mary Fisher Varsel.
Mr Varsel was a member of
Holy Spirit Roman Catholic
Church in Fayette City; and
retired from the Wheeling-
Pittsburgh Steel Corporation;
Allenport plant.
He was preceded in death by
his wife; Helen Varsel; in Sept
1975; and a daughter; Janice
Vargo; in June 1989.
Mr. Varsel is survived by five
sons; Edward of New Bedford;
Mass.; Thomas of Taylor; Mich ;
Charles of Spring; Texas; John
of Detroit; and James of San
Diego; three daughters; Mrs
Victor (Margaret) Gladys of
Dearborn; Mich.; Mrs Erma
Martello of Belle Vernon and
Sister Helen Stanislaus of
Gadsden; Va ; 27 grandchildren;
22 great-grandchildren and
seven great-great grandchildren;
and one sister; Mrs.
Mary Koslasky of Belle Vernon. Friends will be recieved in the Howard W.McCrory Funeral Home;Fayette City;Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m.;Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.and Thursday until 9:30 a.m.;when a Prayer service will be held in the funeral home;followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m.in Holy Spirit Roman Catholic Church;Fayette City;with the Rev.Father Richard Macklewicz;pastor;as celebrant.
