Stanley ‘Scrubby’ Kroskie; 79; of Belle Vernon (Rostraver Township); died Friday; Oct. 17; 2008; at 10:02 a.m. at TLC Adult Care Center; West Newton. Born Feb. 27; 1929; in Belle Vernon (Arnold City); he was a son of the late Walter and Della Grendolski Kroskie. Prior to his move to Rostraver Township; he had been a lifelong resident of Washington Township. Mr. Kroskie was a member of St. Sebastian Roman Catholic Church in Belle Vernon and a retired crane operator from Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel; Allenport plant. He was a veteran of the Korean Conflict; having served with the U.S. Air Force. Mr. Kroskie also was a member of the Naomi Athletic Club; the Fairhope Rod & Gun Club and the Allenport Rod & Gun Club. He is survived by three daughters and sons-in-law: Roseadele and Bill Weston; of Speers; Tina and Chuck Fisher; of Charleroi; and Tonette and Carl Nicolaus; of Belle Vernon; three brothers and one sister-in-law: Edward Kroskie; of Monessen; Walter Kroskie; of Arnold City; and Joseph and Karen Kroskie; of Belle Vernon; two sisters and brothers-in-law: Elizabeth and Bernie Chorba; of Belle Vernon; and Adeline and Ronald Lupori; of Dunlevy; seven grandchildren: Robert; David and Michael Weston; Amber Johnson; Lea Fisher; Carl Nicolaus IV; and Amy Nicolaus; and seven great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held Sunday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the LEONARD J. PARZYNSKI FUNERAL HOME; family owned and operated; 626 Broad Ave.; Belle Vernon (724-929-6183). Funeral services will be held Monday; Oct. 20; at 10 a.m. in the funeral home with the Rev. Lawrence L. Manchas; pastor of St. Sebastian R.C. Church; officiating.
