Stanley "Red" Strychalski, 97, of Belle Vernon, Washington Township, died Monday, Jan. 12, 2015. Born Sept. 30, 1917, in Pitgas, he was the son of the late Andrew and Helen Glasser Strychalski. A lifelong resident of Fairhope, Mr. Strychalski was a member of St. Joseph Polish National Church, Fairhope. Stanley was retired from Consol Energy, where he worked as a Coal Miner, was a member of the United Mine Workers Union and owned and operated Red's Auto Repair, Fairhope from 1947 to 2000. He is survived by a son, Edwin Strychalski of Scenery Hill; a daughter, Barbara Major of Washington Township; four grandchildren, Lesa Major, Brandy Strychalski, Nicole Strychalski, Michael Strychalski; and three great-grandchildren, Alexandra Strychalski, Chance Temas and Sydnie Stella Strychalski. He was preceded in death by his wife, Stella Kaplon Strychalski (1990); four brothers, Edward Strychalski, John Strychalski, Walter A. Strychalski Sr., Joseph Strychalski; and five sisters, Florence Rovney, Mildred Spazak, Nellie Gombo, Ann Glister and Mary Belczyk. Visitation will be held Friday from 9 to 11 a.m. at the PARZYNSKI FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATIONS, Family Owned and Operated, 626 Broad Ave., Belle Vernon, 724-929-6183, followed by funeral services at 11 a.m. in the funeral home with the Rev. Felix Pyzowski of St. Joseph Polish National Catholic Church officiating. Interment will take place in Belle Vernon Cemetery.
