Stanley J.Gerwell;86;of Charleroi;died Saturday;June 7;1997;in Mon Valley Hospital;Carroll Township. Born Dec.28;1910 in Cokeburg;he was the son of the late Charles and Josephine Mickel Gerwell. Mr.Gerwell was a member of Mary;Mother of the Church Parish;Charleroi. He was also a member of the Belgian Club of Charleroi and a life member of the Belle Vernon Moose Club. He was a retired foreman for Corning Glass;Charleroi. In addition to his parents;he was preceded in death by his wife;Helen Gerwell;in 1988; one daughter;Jacqueline Tylus;and one brother;Wallace Gerwell. Surviving are one brother;Charles Gerwell of Monongahela;one sister;Jacqueline McMahan of Charleroi R.D.2 (Fallowfield Township);three grandchildren;Thomas and Zigmunt Tylus Jr.;and Ron Ronick;two great-grandchildren;Ben and Brian Ronick;and one step-great-grandchild;Danielle Harrell. Friends will be received Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the Carl J.Spallino Funeral Home;819 Fallowfield Ave.;Charleroi. Services will be conducted Wednesday at 11 a.m. in the funeral home;followed by interment in Belle Vernon Cemetery. Arrangements are being handled by the CarlJ.Spallino Funeral Home.
