Sophie K.Gohosky;68;of Arnold City;Belle Vernon;died Monday;Feb.15;1988;at 9 a.m.in Mon Valley Hospital;Carroll Township;after a lengthy illness. Mrs.Gohosky was born June 15;1919;in Cardale;Pa.;a daighter of the late Mike and Victoria Prokop. She was a Catholic by faith. In addition to her parents;Mrs.Gohosky was also preceded in death by a daughter;Joyce Ann Thornton;who died in 1984. Surviving are her husband;Rudy Gohosky;one son;Joseph Gohosky;at home;one granddaughter;Christine L.Thornton of Riverdale;Md.;and one sister;Mrs.Mary Dutko of Uniontown. Friends will be received Tuesday and Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the Howard W.McCrory Funeral Home;Fayette City. A Wake Service wil be held Wednesday at 8:30 p.m. in the funeral home. A Prayer Service will be held Thursday at 9:30 a.m. in the funeral home;followed by a 10 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial in Holy Spirit Roman Catholic Church;Fayette City;with the Rev.Thomas G.Rinn;pastor;as celebrant. Burial will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. The Howard W.McCrory Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
