Obituary

A former Monessen woman,Mrs.Sophie Dudzik Stoneking,of Akron,Ohio,died Sunday,Oct.15,1950, at 5 o'clock in the City Hospital at East Liverpool,Ohio,as a result of injuries sustained in an automobile and trailer-truck collision last Monday morning,Oct.9,1950,at 11 a.m. The accident,which involved a car in which Mrs.Stoneking,her husband,Herbert A.Stoneking,and their two children were riding,occurred just outside East Liverpool.  Her husband is still a patient in City hospital,but the children escaped uninjured.  Mrs.Stoneking graduated from Monessen High School in 1937.  She is survived by her husband,Herbert,her two daughters,Susan Carol,aged 2,and Kathy Ellen,aged 1,her father,Joseph Dudzik,of Monessen,two brothers,John of Monessen,and Louis of Ambridge.  Friends will be received at the Check Home for Funerals.  Services will be held there Thursday,October 19,1950,at 9:00 o'clock and additional services will be held in St.Leonard's Church,Monessen.  Rev.O.J.Kirby will officiate,and interment will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery.  Joseph R.Check is the funeral director.
