Silvio U. (Bert) Nesti, 82, of 528 Howard Street, Belle Vernon,died on Tuesday, May 28,1968,at 11 p.m. in the Washington Hospital. Mr. Nesti was born In Pistoia, Italy,on December 16,1885 and had lived in Belle Vernon for the past 74 years. He was a member of St. Sebastian Roman Catholic Church of Belle Vernon; Belle Vernon Beneficial Society; a life member of the Belle Vernon Musical Society and has been an active musician in the Monongahela Valley area for many years. He was a retired coal miner,having retired in 1948. Mr. Nesti was preceded in death by his wife, Rose Dolfi Nesti,on March 5,1954. Surviving are three sons,Cy Nesti of Clairton,Irwin and Romo Nesti,both of Belle Vernon; three daughters, Mrs. Frank (Elsie) Chalfant of Belle Vernon,Mrs. Victor (Evelyn) Salvino of Clairton and Mrs. Norma Winn of Belle Vernon ; one brother, Gigi Nesti of Italy;14 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Friends will be received after 7 p.m. Thursday,May 30,at the Shelby Ferguson Funeral Home,700 Broad Ave.,Belle Vernon. Blessing services there Saturday, June 1,at 9:30 a.m. followed by Requiem High Mass in St. Sebastian R.C.Church, Belle Vernon at 10 a.m. Interment will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery.
