Silvio Garofalo,57,of 5 Lee Dr.,Monessen,died suddenly Friday, Nov. 11,1977 at 5:20 p.m. in McKeesport Hospital. Mr. Garofalo, a U.S. Army veteran who served in the European Theater of Operations during World War II, was a resident of Monessen for 46 years. He was born in Italy on March 14,1920,a son of the late Angelo and Josephine Grano Garofalo. He was employed at the Bettis Division of Westinghouse Corp. in West Mifflin. He was a member of St. Cajetan Catholic Church of Monessen and the Monessen Elks Club. Mr. Garofalo was preceded in death by his mother in 1940,his father in 1962 and a brother,Frank Garofalo in May of 1976. Survivors include his widow, Mary Arabia Garofalo; two daughters,Kathy Garofalo and Becky Garofalo,both at home; one son,Burl Garofalo,at home and two brothers, Gasper Garofalo and Trieste Garofalo, both of Monessen. Friends will be received in the Raymond D. Dalfonso Funeral Home in Monessen on Sunday only from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A wake service will be held in the funeral home on Sunday at 8 p.m. A Blessing service will be held Monday at 9:30 a.m. in the funeral home,followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Cajetan Catholic Church of Monessen,with the Rev. P. Leno Ramellini as celebrant. Interment will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. Raymond D. Dalfonso is the funeral director in charge.
