Obituary

Mrs.Sibbi Ellen Junk,aged 69,of 316 Chestnut street,Monessen,died this morning,Saturday April 28,1956,at 1:06 o'clock at her late home after a lingering illness. Born in Dawson,Mrs.Junk came to Monessen in 1936 from Charleroi. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Monessen,and was a Gold Star Mother. Her son,Orlo Junk was killed in the Battle of the Bulge in 1945. Four other children also preceded her in death. Surviving are her husband,Harry Junk,three sons,Joseph of Monessen,John,of Fairless Hills and Harry Jr.,of Hyattsville,Md.,two daughters,Betty and Beverly Ann,both at home,seven grandchildren and a sister,Mrs.Lawrence Bittner,of Lorain,Ohio. Friends will be received at the late home,beginning Sunday,April 29,at 11 a.m. Funeral services will be held Tuesday,May 1,at 2 p.m.from the late home,with Rev.Abner P.Richard,pastor of the First Presbyterian Church of Monessen officiating. Interment will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. H.Denver Rhome,funeral director.
