Shirley M. Grogan; 75; of Monessen; went to join her Heavenly Father on Friday; Aug. 23; 2013. Born Jan. 10; 1938; in Brooklyn; N.Y.; raised in Donora; she was the daughter of the late Albert and Eleanor Neal. In addition to her parents; she was preceded in death by her husband; Richard D. Grogan Sr.; daughter; Lynn Grogan-Chaney; son; Albert (Albie) Grogan; sister; Mary Lou Bowman and brother; Ronald Towler. She was a lifetime member of Mt. Calvary Baptist Church and a true soldier for the Lord. She was a faithful friend to all. She leaves to cherish her memory; three daughters; Darlene Grogan; Cheresse (JB) Grogan-Bristol and Lorrie Grogan; all of Monessen; three sons; Richard Grogan Jr. of Monessen; David Grogan of Donora and Byron Grogan of Florida; Marsha Levy-Ingraham of Oklahoma and Kawana Bowman of North Carolina; who were like daughters to her; special cousins; Dolores Neal; William Neal Sr. and William Neal Jr.; all of Pittsburgh; 30 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends. Family and friends will be received 6 to 9 p.m. Monday; Aug. 26; at Mt. Calvary Baptist Church; 230 Reed Ave.; Monessen.
