Shirley L. Griffith,83,of 20 Carson st.,Speers,died Monday April 27,1964,at 8:20 p.m. in Charleroi-Monessen Hospital. Mr. Griffith was born in Hamilton,Ind.,May 28,1880. He was a member of Speers Methodist Church and the Oddfellows Lodge of Charleroi. A retired electrician,he was a member of A.F.of L.Local No.5 International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers. Surviving are his widow,Pearl Curl Griffith;two sons, Lewis S. of Warren,Ohio and Thomas C.of Speers; four daughters,Mrs. Harry (Edna) Godfrey of Speers,Mrs. Albert (Gertrude) Kissler of Belle Vernon,Mrs. Steve (Yvonne) Hoffman of Pricedale and Mrs. James (Doris) Hall of Speers Hill; a sister,Mrs. Vella Mortorff of Angola,Ind.;thirteen grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.He was preceded in death by a daughter, Mrs. Bertha Jones,in May,1961. Friends will be received at the Shelby D.Ferguson Funeral Home,Broad Ave.,Belle Vernon,after 7 p.m. on April 28,and thereafter during hours of 2 to 5 and 7 to 10 p.m. Service there Thursday,April 30,at 2 p.m. Interment,Belle Vernon Cemetery.
