Sevester (Wes) Moats;Star Junction;died Monday;Sept.9;1985;at 11 a.m. at his home. He was 82. Mr.Moats was born in Doe Hill;Va.on Nov.16;1902;a son of the late Mr.and Mrs.James Moats. He was Protestant by faith. He retired from the P&LE Railroad after 42 years of service. In addition to his parents;he was preceded in death by a son;Pfc.Melvin Moats who was killed in action in Korea on Nov.30;1950. Survivors include his wife;Mary Hutchison Moats;two sons;James Moats of Fairhope and Paul Moats of Red Acres;Charleroi R.D.;three daughters;Mrs.Phillip (Mary Katherine) Karcesky of Baltimore;Md.;Mrs.Thomas (Virginia) Matty of Star Junction;and Mrs.Benjamin (Thelma) Yates of Fayette City;11 grandchildren;12 great-grandchildren;three brothrs;Robert Moats of Springfield;Va.;French Moats of Doe Hill;Va.;and Frank Moats of Dayton;Va.;and three sisters;Mrs.Fannie Starcher of Charleston;W.Va.;Mrs.Annie Hoover of Harrisonburg;Va.;and Mrs.Lucy Varner of California. Friends will be received at the Howard W.McCrory Funeral Home;Fayette City;on Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m.;Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and Thursday util 11 a.m.when services will be held at the funeral home with Pastor Robert Cromwell;pastor of the Little Redstone United Presbyterian Church;officiating. Burial will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. The Howard W.McCrory Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
