Scott Butler,aged 65,died at 5 p.m.,Friday,Sept.16,1955,at his home,12th street and Morgan avenue. An employee of the Pittsburgh Steel Co.for the past 25 years,he was a trustee of the Union Baptist Church,a member of the Gospel Chorus of the Union Baptist Church and a member of Monessen Elks Lodge 697. Surviving are his wife,Mrs. Hattie Butler;two children,Jean and Maggie,both of South Carolina;one brother,of Ohio and one nephew. The remains will lie in state at the Union Baptist Church after 6 p.m. Sunday. Funeral services will be held Monday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Harrison Spencer officiating. Interment will be in the Belle Vernon Cemetery. Dubois Carter,funeral director,in charge.
