Obituary

Saundra Butler Hewitt,46,of 2025 Penn Ave.,Pittsburgh,formerly of Belle Vernon,died Monday,Aug.29,1988,in her home. Mrs.Hewitt was born June 30,1942,in North Charleroi,a daughter of the late Benjamin Butler and of Christella Butler,who survives and resides in Belle Vernon. She was employed as a secretary at Bartolotto Products on Penn Avenue in Pittsburgh. Surviving,in addition to her mother,are two sons,Vaughn Hewitt,serving with the U.S.Navy in Jacksonville,Fla.,and Benjamin Hewitt,at home,a daughter,Mayumi,at home,three brothers,Benjamin of North Braddock,Glenn of New York City,N.Y.,and Michael of Belle Vernon,three sisters,Carla Snow of Pittsburgh,Jackie Butler of New York City,N.Y.,and Rozalind Butler of Belle Vernon,a sister-in-law,Bernice Butler of North Braddock and nieces and nephews. Friends will be received Wednesday,Aug.31,1988,from 1 to 9 p.m.and Thursday,Sept.1,1988,from 10 a.m.to 9 p.m.in the West Funeral Home,2215 Wylie Ave.,Pittsburgh. Services will be held Friday at 1:30 p.m.in the Greater Pittsburgh Christian Temple,250 S.Pacific Ave.,Pittsburgh,with Bishop Timothy Williams officiating. Burial will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery.
