Sarafene M. Huscroft, 92, of Belle Vernon, passed away Sunday, Sept. 7, 2014, in her home. A daughter of the late Joseph and Mary Edwards Amato, she was born in North Charleroi on Nov. 17, 1921. A lifelong resident of Belle Vernon, she was a member and past board secretary and treasurer of the Pricedale Union Church. Sarafene loved playing cards, going to flea markets and antiques. Survivors include her husband of 72 years, Norman S. Huscroft; two sons and one daughter-in-law, Scott and Peggy Huscroft and Gregg Huscroft and his friend, Beth Ann Coccari; one granddaughter, Renee Horne and her husband, Travis, all of Belle Vernon; two great-granddaughters, Raelyn and Alayna Horne; and one sister-in-law, Cleo Amato of Carroll Township. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, S. Joseph and Lloyd Amato. Friends will be received 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday in the FERGUSON FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY INC., 700 Broad Ave., Belle Vernon, http://www.FergusonFuneralHomeAndCrematory.com, 724-929-5300. Funeral services will be in the funeral home at 10 a.m. Wednesday with the Pastor James Mimidis officiating. Interment will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery.
