Sara Elma Winship, 85, formerly of the Mon Valley, passed away Monday, April 27, 2015, in the Wilshire at Lakewood Nursing Home, Lees Summit, Mo. She left the Mon Valley in 1968 and moved to Missouri. A daughter of the late Harold Breakwell Lambert and Edna Githens Lambert, she was born in North Belle Vernon on February 19, 1930. She worked for the government as an IRS Agent, Special Projects Coordinator before her retirement. Survivors include one son, Howard Douglas Winship of St. Louis, Mo.; two daughters and sons-in-law, Nancy (Don) Winslow of Buckner, Mo., and Pattie (Earl) Harris, of Lees Summit, Mo.; three brothers and three sisters-in-law, Charles (Emma) Lambert of Lancaster, Pa., Harold (Betty) Lambert of New Freedom, Pa., and James (Verona) Lambert of Litiz, Pa.; one sister, Patricia DiGioia of Monessen; and five grandchildren, Andrew Winship, Grant Winship, Amy Elizabeth Harris, Ashley Harris, and Caleb Winslow. Graveside services will be held Friday at 1 p.m. in the Belle Vernon Cemetery with the Rev. Suzanne Currie officiating.
