Sara Ann Thompson, 78, formerly of Speers,died Friday,May 7,1971, at 12:10 a.m. at the Oak Glen Home in Coal Valley,Ill. She was born in Speers Aug. 6, 1892,a daughter of Samuel and Martha Curl. She had made her home with her sister, Mrs. Parl Griffith of Speers,before moving to Coal Valley about five years ago. She also formerly lived in Clairton and McKeesport. She had been a den mother for Scotland School. She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star of Clairton. She was preceded in death by her husband,Ralph D. Thompson, in 1942. Surviving are one son, Ralph J. Thompson of Woodridge, Ill.; one sister, Mrs. Pearl Griffith of Speers; and two grandchildren. Friends will be received at the Ferguson Funeral Home,Belle Vernon,Sunday afternoon and evening at the Ferguson Funeral Home,Belle Vernon,where a funeral service will be held Monday,May 10,at 2 p.m.with the Rev.Robert C.Guffey of Speers Methodist Church officiating.
