Samuel Sweet Corn Sam Babich; 90; of Daisytown; passed away; Sunday; Jan. 5; 2014; in Monongahela Valley Hospital; Carroll Township. He was born Feb. 14; 1923; in Jefferson Township; son of the late Charles Babich and the late Elizabeth Benyak Babich. Sam was a member of the Community Christ Church in Fayette City. He was retired from Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel; Allenport Plant. Sam enjoyed hunting and fishing with his sons and tending to the family farm in Daisytown. He is survived by four sons; Samuel C. Babich of Jefferson Township;Terence Babich and fiancee; Sharon; at home; Ronald M. Babich and wife; Connie; of Daisytown and Timothy A. Babich of Charleroi; two sisters; Madeline Zubricky and Elizabeth Bednar both of Jefferson Township; five grandsons; Jason; Jamie; Zachary; Holt Babich and Patrick Miller; great-grandson; Brayden Babich; and great-granddaughters; Neriah Babich and Nadia Babich. He was preceded in death by his wife; Ruth Uchelvich Babich; seven brothers; Charles; John; Frank; Andrew; Michael; Paul and Joseph Babich; two sisters; Ellen Barota and Mary Blanchard.
