Obituary

Sam Simon,62,who was co-owner of the Hilltop Bus Lines from 1925 to 1939,died Saturday,Jan.1,1966,in Allegheny General Hospital,Pittsburgh,after a lingering illness. He lived at 1317 Leeds Ave.,Monessen.Mr. Simon retired on a disability pension last summer from the construction department of the Monessen plant of Pittsburgh Steel Co. He was born in Syria. Mr. Simon was a member of St. Michael's Syrian Orthodox Church of Monessen. His wife, Marion Matheny Simon, died in February, 1962. Surviving are his step-mother, Mrs. Elizabeth Simon of Perryopolis,three brothers, Benjamin of Monessen,with whom he made his home,John with the United States Army in Germany and Thomas in Perryopolis, two sisters, Mrs. Mary Zayer of New York City and Mrs. Anna Dzurinko of Monessen. Friends are being received at the H.Denver Rhome Funeral Home,Monessen,where a service will take place Wednesday,Jan.5,1966,at 12:30 p.m.followed by an additional service at 1 p.m.in St.Michael's Syrian Orthodox Church,Monessen. The Rev.Anese Elias,pastor,will officiate. Interment,Belle Vernon Cemetery. Triasgion Services at the funeral home Jan.3 and 4 at 8 p.m. H.Denver Rhome,funeral director.
