Obituary

Sam Suppa, 83, of 313 Wood St., Belle Vernon, died Saturday, May 20, 1995, at 3 a.m. in Mon Valley Hospital, Carroll Township. Born May 19, 1912, in Belle Vernon, he was a son of the late Angelo and Josephine Suppa. He was a member of St. Sebastian Roman Catholic Church and the American Legion, both of Belle Vernon. Mr. Suppa retired in 1973 from the Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Corp. Allenport plant. He was a U S. Army veteran of World War II. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Jean, who died April 20, 1990, two brothers, James and John Suppa, and one sister, Louise George. Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Sam and Annette Suppa Jr. of Belle Vernon, two daughters, Mrs. Richard (Joyce) Affinito of Belle Vernon and Mrs. Tony (Josephine) Argirakis of Monessen, four brothers, Frank Suppa of Pittsburgh, and Angelo Jr., Nick and Joseph Suppa, all of the state of California, two sisters, Katherine Moravec and Justine Hixson, both of Belle Vernon, seven grandchildren and four greatgrandchildren. Friends will be received Sunday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the Ferguson Funeral Home Inc., 700 Broad Ave., Belle Vernon,where services will be held Tuesday at 10 a.m.with the Rev.John Cindric of St.Sebastian R.C.Church,Belle Vernon,officiating. Burial will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. The Belle Vernon Legion Post 659 will hold services at 7 p.m.Monday in the funeral home. The Ferguson Funeral Home Inc.is in charge of arrangements.
