Samuel H. Humphries,71,228 Reed Ave.,Monessen,died on Monday,Dec. 16,1991,in Mon Valley Hospital. He was born on May 2,1920,in Durham,N.C.,a son of the late John and Alma Humphries. Mr. Humphries wa employed by Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Company. He was a U.S.Army veteran,serving in World War II. He was preceded in death by three brothers,Joseph,John Jr. and James and two sisters,Mary and Ruth. Survivors include his wife,Mildred L. Humphries,who he was married to for 50 years;two sons, Samuel Humphries Jr.and Carroll Humphries,both of Monessen;two daughters,Mrs. Richard (Millie) Blount of Atlanta,Ga. and Mrs. Falcumsak (Halaloke) Khammungkhune of San Marcos, Calif.; three sisters,Martha Hhumphries of Monessen,Dorcas Glascoe and Naomi Taylor,both of Washington,D.C.;seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Friends will be received Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Beverly C. Draper Funeral Home,608 Sixth St.,Monessen. Funeral services will be held Friday at 11 a.m. at Wayman A.M.E Church of Monessen with Rev. Robert Taylor officiating. Interment will be at Belle Vernon Cemetery. The Beverly C. Draper Funeral Home is handling funeral arrangements.
