Sam Cardinale;82;of 113 Lucella Ave.;Charleroi;died Sunday;Jan.21;1973;at 9:45 p.m.at his home after an illness of three months. Born Oct.26;1890;in Sicily;Italy;he was a son of the late Louis and Concetta Battaglia Cardinale. A resident of the Charleroi area for the past 60 years;Mr.cardinale owned and operated Sam’s Barber Shop at 113 Crest Ave.;Charleroi. He was a member of Mother of Sorrows R.C.Church and for many years was secretary of the Sons of Italy Lodge;both of Chareroi. Surviving are his widow;Mary Grace Camperi Cardinale;three daughters;Jo Marie at home;Mrs.Stella Gibino and Mrs.Ernest (Marie) Rocca;both of Charleroi;two sisters;Mrs.Bernard (Rose) Siragusa and Mrs.Dorothy Daura;both of Italy;two brothers;Joseph of Detroit;Mich.;and Angelo of Italy;eight grandchildren;10 great-grandchildren;three great-great-grandchildren. Friends will be received from 2 to 5 and 7 to 10 p.m.Tuesday and Wednesday at the Francis C.Slezak Funeral Home;Charleroi. Mass of the Resurrection will be held Thursday at 11 a.m.at Mother of Sorrows R.C.Church;Charleroi;with the Rev.J.J.Thomas;pastor;officiating. Interment in Belle Vernon Cemetery.
