Obituary

Samuel C.Daugherty of 93 Johnston Ave.,Belle Vernon,died Saturday,Dec.21,1985,at 3:49 p.m. in the Mon Valley Hospital. He was 87. Mr.Daugherty was born Feb.17,1898,in Rostraver Township,a son of the late William and Debra Porter Daugherty. He was a member of Rehoboth Presbyterian Church and Monessen Elks Lodge 773. Mr.Daugherty was a veteran of World War I,having served in the 110th Infantry of the U.S.Army. He retired in 1963 from the Page Plant of the American Chain and Cable Co.,where he was a foreman in the machine shop. Survivors include his wife,Hazel Larquier Daugherty,two daughters,Mrs.Leonard (Carol) Pushkar of Belle Vernon and Mrs.Harry (Estelle) Roberts of Webster,one sister,Mary Jane Todd of Belle Vernon R.D.,six grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. Friends will be received Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the Shelby D.Ferguson Funeral Home,700 Broad Ave.,Belle Vernon,where services will be held Tuesday,Dec.24,at 10 a.m. with the Rev.Helen B.Cochrane,pastor of Rehoboth Presbyterian Church,officiating. Burial will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. Shelby D.Ferguson,funeral director,is in charge of arrangements.
