Samuel C.Daugherty of 93 Johnston Ave.;Belle Vernon;died Saturday;Dec.21;1985;at 3:49 p.m. in the Mon Valley Hospital. He was 87. Mr.Daugherty was born Feb.17;1898;in Rostraver Township;a son of the late William and Debra Porter Daugherty. He was a member of Rehoboth Presbyterian Church and Monessen Elks Lodge 773. Mr.Daugherty was a veteran of World War I;having served in the 110th Infantry of the U.S.Army. He retired in 1963 from the Page Plant of the American Chain and Cable Co.;where he was a foreman in the machine shop. Survivors include his wife;Hazel Larquier Daugherty;two daughters;Mrs.Leonard (Carol) Pushkar of Belle Vernon and Mrs.Harry (Estelle) Roberts of Webster;one sister;Mary Jane Todd of Belle Vernon R.D.;six grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. Friends will be received Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the Shelby D.Ferguson Funeral Home;700 Broad Ave.;Belle Vernon;where services will be held Tuesday;Dec.24;at 10 a.m. with the Rev.Helen B.Cochrane;pastor of Rehoboth Presbyterian Church;officiating.
