Sam Bongiorno of 313 Woodland avenue, Charleroi,died suddenly at his home,Sunday, March 14,1954, at 10:20 p.m. Mr. Bongiorno was born in Charleroi, June 17,1899,the son of Philip and Anna Ccampana Bongiorno. He was a member of the Mother of Sorrows Church,and was employed as an upsetter operator at the Allenport plant of the Pittsburgh Steel Company. He is survived by his wife, Emma Vivian Bongiorno,four sons, Samuel Jr.,Alfred,and Jerry at home and Philipin the United States Navy;one daughter, Vivian Dolores Bongiorno at home;his mother, Mrs. Anna Bongiorno of Charleroi,six brothers, Frank of California state,Anthony of Fairhope,Joseph of Charleroi,R.D.,Thomas of Allenport,Paul of Shadyside,Ohio and Philip of Monessen;three sisters, Mrs. Anna Benedetti,Mrs. Bessy Sutch of Charleroi and Mrs. Sarah Osiol of Donora. Friends will be received at the home of his mother,Mrs. Anna Bongiorno,313 Shady avenue. Requiem High Mass will be sung in the Mother of Sorrows Church, Thursday, March 18,1954,at 10 a.m.,by Rev. J.J. Thomas,and interment will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery. Francis C. Slezak is the funeral director.
