Salvatore (Sam) Bitonti of
18 Johnston St.; Belle Vernon;
died Friday;Sept.3;1982; at 11:50 p.m.
in the Mon Valley Hospital.
He was 82.
Mr. Bitonti was born Dec.
16;1899;in San Giovani; Italy;
a son of the late Joseph and
Anna Bitonti.
A resident of Belle Vernon
since 1921; he was a member
of St. Sebastian Church.
Mr. Bitonti had been a
member of the former
Market St. Italian Club and
was a social member of the
Sons of Italy.
He retired In 1965 as a
bricklayer foreman at the
Monessen Plant of the
Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel
Corp.
Survivors Include his
widow; Mary Speen Bitonti:
four sons; Joseph; Frank and
Samuel; all of Belle Vernon;
and Paul of Washington. Pa.;
one daughter; Mrs. Paul (Anna) Adametz of Belle Vernon; one brother; Frank of
Fairmont; W. Va.; and nine
grandchildren.
Friends will be received in the Shelby D.Ferguson Funeral Home;700 Broad Ave.;Belle Vernon;on Sunday and Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A Prayer service will be held on Tuesday;Sept.7;1982;at 9:30 a.m.in the funeral home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m.in St.Sebastian Church;Belle Vernon. Burial will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. Shelby D.Ferguson;funeral director;is in charge of arrangements.
