Sadie L. Gillespie Winstone of Greensburg, formerly of Monessen, died Sunday, Oct. 11,1987, at 11:40 p.m. following a lingering illness. She was 83. Mrs. Winstone was born March 23, 1898, in Coulter, a daughter of the late Robert and Millie Williams Gillespie. For many years, she had been a resident of Monessen, where she was a member of the First Baptist Church. Mrs. Winstone was also a member of Order of Eastern Star Chapter 205 and AARP.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, David C. Winstone; a daughter, LaVerne Ferguson; and a son, David A. Winstone, who died three weeks ago. Survivors include four daughters,Mrs. John W. (Davene) McKelvey of West Newton, Mrs. Herbert 0. (Dorothy) Johnson of Monessen, Mrs. Robert C. (Vivian) Ammon of Fellsburg, and Mrs. Theodore J. (Lorna) Wulf of Toledo, Ohio; one son, Donald K. Winstone of Pompano Beach, Fla.; eight grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and one sister, Madeline Burrows of Belle Vernon. Friends will be received Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the Rhome Funeral Home, Inc., 1209 Grand Blvd., Monessen,where services will be held Wednesday,Oct.14,at 1 p.m. Burial will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. The Rhome Funeral Home,Inc.,is in charge of arrangements.
