Obituary

Ruth Watson Carter, 86, of Charleroi, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, March 4, 2006. She passed away of natural causes in Mon Valley Hospital. Mrs. Carter was born June 12, 1919, a daughter of the late Onzelow and Tempe Watson. She was a member of Mt. Sinai Baptist Church, where she was loved and respected. She has touched many lives and kept her pledge to God. Mrs. Carter worked for the state until her retirement. She organized the Share Organization in Atlantic City, N.J., which brought healthy foods to those in need. She leaves to mourn her loss one son, Raymond Carter, of New Jersey, two daughters, Joyce Williams and Karen Carter, both of Charleroi, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and other members of her ever-growing extended family. Mrs. Carter will be missed by family, friends and neighbors. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Fleming Carter, one son, Louis Watson Sr., three brothers and two sisters. Visitation will be held Thursday from 5 to 9 p.m. in Mt. Sinai Baptist Church, Brushton Avenue, Charleroi (behind Rotolo's) and Friday, March 10 from 10 to 11 a.m., the time of service with the Rev. Anthony Bristol officiating. Burial will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. The WILLIAM R. TAYLOR FUNERAL HOME, 645 McMahon Ave., Monessen, is handling arrangements. Trudy Taylor-Bristol is in charge. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Mon-Vale Health Resources Inc., Sweeney Melenyzer Regional Cancer Center.
