Ruth I. Springer; 79; of North Belle Vernon; died Thursday; Sept. 22; 2005; in her home. A daughter of the late Joseph and Maude Wolfe Springer; she was born in North Charleroi on July 2; 1926. A lifelong resident of Belle Vernon; she was a member of the First United Methodist Church. She worked in the office of the former Page Wire and Steel Company in Monessen until its closing; the Banning Mine Company; and retired in 1990 from the former Wetterau Company in Belle Vernon. Survivors include her twin sister; Lois Davis and husband James; of Birmingham; Ala.; one brother-in-law; John Taylor; of Bear Rocks; and many nieces; nephews and cousins. In addition to her parents; she was preceded in death by two sisters; Cora Belle Taylor and Donna Owens; both in 2002; and one brother; Robert Springer; in 1992. Friends will be received Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the FERGUSON FUNERAL HOME INC. and CREMATION SERVICE; a Golden Rule Member Firm; 724-929-5300; 700 Broad Ave.; Belle Vernon; where funeral services will be held Monday; Sept. 26 at 10 a.m. with the Rev. David Zona officiating. Interment will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery.
