Obituary

Ruth I. Springer, 79, of North Belle Vernon, died Thursday, Sept. 22, 2005, in her home. A daughter of the late Joseph and Maude Wolfe Springer, she was born in North Charleroi on July 2, 1926. A lifelong resident of Belle Vernon, she was a member of the First United Methodist Church. She worked in the office of the former Page Wire and Steel Company in Monessen until its closing, the Banning Mine Company, and retired in 1990 from the former Wetterau Company in Belle Vernon. Survivors include her twin sister, Lois Davis and husband James, of Birmingham, Ala., one brother-in-law, John Taylor, of Bear Rocks, and many nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Cora Belle Taylor and Donna Owens, both in 2002, and one brother, Robert Springer, in 1992. Friends will be received Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the FERGUSON FUNERAL HOME INC. and CREMATION SERVICE, a Golden Rule Member Firm, 724-929-5300, 700 Broad Ave., Belle Vernon, where funeral services will be held Monday, Sept. 26 at 10 a.m. with the Rev. David Zona officiating. Interment will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery.
