Ruth Bartus;84;of 2307 W.Crawford Ave.;Connellsville;formerly of Belle Vernon;died Saturday;Aug.13;1994;at 7 p.m.in Brownsville General Hospital. Mrs.Bartus was born Sept.14;1909;in Bullskin Township;Fayette County;a daughter of the late Albert and Cora Harshman Burkett. She had lived in Leisenring No.1 and had lived in Belle Vernon for 38 years before moving to Connellsville;where she lived the last 28 years of her life. Mrs.Bartus was a former member of the First Baptist Church;Belle Vernon. She and her husband;John L.Bartus;who survives;were married 45 years on June 10;1984. In addition to her parents;she was also preceded in death by a son;Eugene Quinn;in 1989;by a granddaughter;Lori Ann Quinn;in 1982;and by a sister;Blanche Corbett;in 1981. Four brothers;Albert;Ernest;Ray and John are also deceased. Surviving are one son;Ernest Quinn of Lilburn;Ga.;one brother;Jesse Burkett of Leisenring No.1;one sister;Grace Bryus of Detroit;Mich.;four grandchildren;James;Keith;Dawn and Mark Quinn;and five great-grandchildren. Friends will be received Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the Ferguson Funeral Home Inc.;700 Broad Ave.;Belle Vernon. Services will be held Wednesday at 10:30 a.m.in the funeral home with Pastor Larry R.Walker of the First Baptist Church;Belle Vernon;officiating. Burial will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. The Ferguson Funeral Home Inc.is handling arrangements.
