Obituary

Ruth Bartus,84,of 2307 W.Crawford Ave.,Connellsville,formerly of Belle Vernon,died Saturday,Aug.13,1994,at 7 p.m.in Brownsville General Hospital. Mrs.Bartus was born Sept.14,1909,in Bullskin Township,Fayette County,a daughter of the late Albert and Cora Harshman Burkett. She had lived in Leisenring No.1 and had lived in Belle Vernon for 38 years before moving to Connellsville,where she lived the last 28 years of her life. Mrs.Bartus was a former member of the First Baptist Church,Belle Vernon. She and her husband,John L.Bartus,who survives,were married 45 years on June 10,1984. In addition to her parents,she was also preceded in death by a son,Eugene Quinn,in 1989,by a granddaughter,Lori Ann Quinn,in 1982,and by a sister,Blanche Corbett,in 1981. Four brothers,Albert,Ernest,Ray and John are also deceased. Surviving are one son,Ernest Quinn of Lilburn,Ga.,one brother,Jesse Burkett of Leisenring No.1,one sister,Grace Bryus of Detroit,Mich.,four grandchildren,James,Keith,Dawn and Mark Quinn,and five great-grandchildren. Friends will be received Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the Ferguson Funeral Home Inc.,700 Broad Ave.,Belle Vernon. Services will be held Wednesday at 10:30 a.m.in the funeral home with Pastor Larry R.Walker of the First Baptist Church,Belle Vernon,officiating. Burial will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. The Ferguson Funeral Home Inc.is handling arrangements.
