Obituary

Russell C. Thompson,70,a prominent Belle Vernon real estate and insurance man and civic leader,died at his home at 724 Broad Ave.,Wednesday morning,Oct. 7,1959 at 9:30. Mr. Thompson was one of the original backers of Belle Vernon Public Library. He was a past master of Belle Vernon Lodge 643,Free and Accepted Masons,and a member of the Shrine and Consistory of Pittsburgh.  He was also a past president of the Belle Vernon Rotary Club. Mr. thompson is survied by his wife, Bertha B. Thompson. Freinds will be received at the toner Funeral home in belle Vernon after 7 p.m.on Thursday.  Services will be held at the funeral home Friday at 8 p.m. Private burial will take place in Belle Vernon Cemetery at 10 a.m. Saturday.  The Rev. William Shatz,pastor  of the First Methodist Church of Belle  Vernon,will officiate.  In lieu of flowers,friends are requested to make a contribution to the Belle Vernon Public Library.
