Rose Marie Popelas-Marmie passed away at Canonsburg Hospital surrounded by her family on August 22, 2024. A daughter of the late Julia Petrosky and John (Slim) Popelas, she was born in Charleroi Monessen Hospital on September 10, 1949. She is survived by two brothers and sisters-in-laws, George and Barbara Popelas of Houston, PA and Bob and Cindy Popelas of Monessen, several nieces and nephews, and friends, John and CJ in Hawaii. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her oldest brother, John T. Popelas III, and her youngest brother, Mark Anthony Popelas. Rose Marie began her life in Belle Vernon as a beautician. She moved to Hawaii at a young age where she worked as a secretary at CJ Kimberly Real Estate. She returned home to spend her final years surrounded by her family. Rose enjoyed spending time with her family and her daily crossword puzzles. She will be remembered for her compassionate and loving personality. Rose had a love for animals, especially her cats. At Rose's request, there will be no viewing, and a memorial service will take place at a later date.
