Roscoe Bright, 65, of Monongahela, died Thursday, Sept. 9, 2004, in Mon Valley Hospital, Carroll Township. Born Jan. 5, 1939, in Monessen, he was a son of the late John Sr. and Elsie M. Carter Bright. Formerly of Monessen, he had resided in Monongahela since 1974. He was employed by Westmoreland County Housing Authority for the past 38 years. Methodist by faith, he was a member of the Bethel A.M.E. Church in Monongahela, where he served as a member on the trustee board at the time of his death. Survivors include his wife, Gloria J. Freeman-Bright, four sons, Roscoe C. Bright Sr. and wife, Wendy, of Elizabeth, Michael C. Bright and wife, Christina, of New York, Rodney E. Freeman, of Monessen, and Jason L. Bright, of Monongahela, three daughters, Roconia E. Price and husband, Mark, of Virginia, Willie A. Gore and husband, Clifton Jr., of Erie, and Jeanne R. Davis, of Monessen, a sister, Margaret Robertson and husband, Maurice, of Washington, Pa., two brothers, Leroy Bright, of Monessen, and William Billy Bright and wife, Harriet, of Michigan, 12 grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by many brothers and sisters and a grandson, Clifton Gore III. Friends will be received Sunday from 3 to 8 p.m. in Bethel A.M.E. Church, Seventh and Main streets, Monongahela. A life celebration service will be held Monday, Sept. 13, at 11 a.m. in the church, followed by interment in Belle Vernon Cemetery. Arrangements have been entrusted to the ALDRICH FUNERAL HOMES, 431 E. Ninth Ave., Munhall.
