Obituary

Ronald P. Venneri,formerly of Belle Vernon,passed away peacefully in Myrtle Beach,SC on Thursday May 31,2018 at the age of 82. He was the son of Eugene and Olga (Zucconi) Venneri of Belle Vernon who preceded him in death. He was the brother of Robert Venneri of Wintersville,OH,who also preceded Ron in death.  He is survived by his niece, Kimberly Waddell and her family,Amy and Daniel Phillips and their children Zachery and Piper of Augusta,GA.  He is also survived by many loving cousins,family members and friends. Ron was a graduate of Belmar High School in 1954 and received a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Industrial Design from the Carnegie Institute of Technology (now Carnegie Mellon University) in 1959.  He served on active duty in the U.S. Army from 1959-62 and as a reservist until 1965. Upon discharge from active duty he joined the design firm of Sundberg-Ferar in Toledo,OH for about 10 years.  Always an automobile enthusiast,he was a senior industrial designer for company's automotive and home appliance product lines. He and colleagues then formed their own company,Design Source,Ltd.,continuing in the same business lines.  Following his business endeavor,he joined Sheller-Globe as the Manager of Styling for their automotive product lines.  That company was acquired by United Technology Automotive,Inc.,where Ron was the Manager of their design studio in Detroit,MI,managing auto design projects for the US auto industry and,in particular,for the Corvette,which was his first love.  He worked at UTA until his rerirement in 1998.Upon retirement he relocated to Myrtle Beach to enjoy his new loves of warm weather and the beach. A brief memorial for family and close friends will be held at the Belle Vernon Cemetery chapel at 9:30 am on June 30 with interment for those who desire to attend immediately following.  In lieu of flowers the family has requested donations be made to the Disabled Veterans (DAV) or a memorial tree planted in his memory.
