Ronald J. Sholtis, 75, of Belle Vernon, passed away Sunday, July 2, 2017 in Mon Valley Hospital. A son of the late John and Mary Buchton Sholtis, he was born in N. Charleroi on August 28, 1941. Ron was a member of the Belle Vernon American Legion, Post 659, the Moose Lodge 209, Naomi Club, S & P.J., the Croation Club of Monessen and the Roosevelt Club of Greensburg. He enjoyed, hunting, fishing, gardening and playing bocce. A U. S. Marine veteran, he retired after 38 years from Supervalu. Ron also coached Belle Vernon Bronco baseball and midget football from 1960 thru 1964. Survivors include his wife, Patricia Ann Walters Sholtis, one daughter and son-in-law, Debra Ann and Richard George of Greensburg, one son and daughter-in-law, Ronald and Laura Sholtis, Jr. of Bakersfield, CA, three sisters, Carol Ann Gervin of Richmond, VA, Marilyn Guseman of Fayette City and Susan Buza of Belle Vernon, five grandchildren, twins, Amanda Foschia of Latrobe and Nicole Palmer of Greensburg, Ronald Walters Sholtis, Olivia O’Leary and Joanna Sholtis all of Bakersfield, CA, five great-grandchildren, Nathaniel, Zaylee, Gianna, John and Jasmine and a Godson, Joseph Buza. Friends will be received on Wednesday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 P.M. in the Ferguson Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 700 Broad Avenue, Belle Vernon.

Interment will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery. The Belle Moose will meet in the funeral home at 7 P.M. to hold services and the American Legion will meet at 7:45 P.M. to hold services, both on Wednesday.
