Obituary

Ronald Davis,39,of 403 Lincoln St.Somerset,died Monday,Dec.30,1985,in the Brockton Hospital,Brockton,Mass. A truck driver for Whiteford systems of South Bend,Ind.,Mr.Davis had fallen from a truck from which he was unloading Coleman camper trailers at a dealership near Boston,Mass.,on Friday,Dec.27. He was taken to Brockton Hospital and never regained consciousness. He was born Nov.13,1946,in Dallas,Texas,a son of William Davis of Marysville,Wash.,and the late Ruby Lowe Brickley. A resident of Somerset the past six years,Mr.Davis was the former police chief in Berlin. He was also a former part-time police officer for the City of Somerset. Mr.Davis was a veteran of the Viet Nam War,having served with the U.S.Marine Corps. Survivors include his wife,Onalova Gillis Davis of Somerset,one son,Shannon Davis of Somerset,two daughters,Dorri Sue and Michelle Lynn Davis,both of Somerset,his stepfather,John Brickey of Belle Vernon,by whom he was raised,and a sister,Mrs.Joseph (Connie) Lucas Jr.of Belle Vernon. Friends will be received Thursday 7 to 9 p.m.in the Shelby D.Ferguson Funeral Home,700 Broad Ave.,Belle Vernon,and on Friday,Jan.3 from 10 a.m.until noon,at which time services will be held with Father Terrence E.Johnson,pastor of St.Francis in the Fields Episcopal Church of Somerset,officiating. Burial will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery,with military honors by the U.S.Marine Inspector-Instructor Staff of the First Platoon Company,Connellsville,in charge. Shelby D.Ferguson,funeral director,is in charge of arrangements.
